More Insurance

Sarah and I no longer have health insurance so I am in the process of finding some and then have to see if I can get the church to help with the payments. I figure I am doing what some consider two full-time jobs- though that could be debatable- that I could get some help paying for it. And I didn't ask for an increase in pay. So I have some ground to ask for the church to help with insurance.

I have been looking at a few plans and they all suck. Most of the ones I find you have to pay a percentage of the bill. So if something happens and it costs 10,000 bucks to whatever, I may have to pay 3-5,000 of that depending on the plan I have. Seems like great insurance. So I am back on the hunt.

Don't worry Travis I will make sure I am covered by lightning strike so that I won't have to go through what you are going through.

Memorial Service

We have a memorial serbice today at 3. It should be a nice service. It may be emotional, but I think most people have greived some. However, I am sure that once people start talking about Chuck the emotions will all come back.

Continue to keep Roz, Nate, and Sara in your prayers and they deal with this loss.

New Job

Well since you heard about the death of our Music pastor I will not go into that. But what I will tell you is that Sarah and I are now in charge of the music on Sunday mornings as well as the youth group. It should be interesting because the people of this church are pretty old fashioned. At least there are enough of the old folk that they don't go unnoticed. So it should be interesting to see how the adapt to Sarah and I now leading the worship. We will definitely have to pick and choose these battles, but I am looking forward to playing my guitar again and doing that whole bit. We are now looking for a piano player and a drummer. Do you know any? I think it should go pretty well because we have built some relationships with a lot of the people here and they are getting to know us.

Pengulum Swing

Well things have definitely changed here in the past 24 hours. Chuck, the guy I told you about in my previous blog, died yesterday around 2 pm. They took him off of life support and he went Home. My Sr. Pastor, who was going to be in New Orleans for 9 more weeks just called this morning and said he will be home on thursday. Anyways, things are kind of making a swing back to being able to move on. I am glad that they pulled the plug with Chuck so that he would just be a vegetable for who knows how long. I know that is what I would have wanted if I were in his place.

We no longer need to pray for him, but we do need to pray for his wife and two adult children.

What the Heck!!

I am sitting here in the almost complete newly remodeled basement that I did just about all by myself with my new laptop and my wireless internet thinking about what in the world is going on. My Sr Pastor was sent to New Orleans to help with the mess down there and I just found out last night that he will be there for another 9 weeks. He has already been there for 1.5 weeks. Then, last tuesday night our worship pastor, who just moved in upstairs here at the parsonage had a brain aneurysm and a stroke. It was pretty amazing how God worked this thing out because for some reason people were just coming home when it happened and sarah and I were on our way out. And since we didn't have our own door at the time we had to go through there house. So I got to use my skills that I have from my EMT stuff to help out there. 911 was called and they came and took him away with a blood pressure of 280/160 - for those of you who don't know that it RIDICULOUSLY high. He was really altered. He couldn't even make any words that make sense. So they did emergency surgery on him when he got there and it was about 230 am when the Dr came out and said that it wasn't looking too good. His brain isn't beating with the heart and we now must wait to see if it will recover. Well, they did a CAT scan yesterday and are finding no brain activity. The family is now deciding whether or not to pull the plug and it looks like they are heading in that direction. He will leave a wife and two children- nate who is 23 and sara who is 21. His wife's name is Roselyn (We call her Roz) It is pretty nuts here right now and we are just trying to support them in whatever way we can.
